The VikingBoat Races To Cure Diabetes, are you with me?

I need lots of help… to support the families and kids diagnosed with juvenile Diabetes. How do we do this? By making the Races to Cure Diabetes a reality!

The Viking Boat Races Vision is to bring the traditional rowing sport of “Viking Boat Racing”, “Church Boat Racing” to Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and the greater Coeur d’Alene area. Church boats (kirkkovene), are a 12 meter, 15 person team rowing craft.

Our mission is to provide boat racing activities to raise funds for research and to provide financial assistance to families who have children diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. When a child is diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, not only does that child and family have to learn to cope with the medical issues, but they also need to deal with not being destroyed by the ongoing financial implications. Therefore, the funds generated from the Coeur d’Alene Viking Boat Races and community fund raising activities will be directly allocated to address these issues.

The Coeur d’Alene Viking Boat Racing Organization will provide several annual rowing events, the racing activities will be of all skill levels. We will also provide opportunities for recreational rowing, touring, open rowing, and team practice.

The races will provide individuals, an opportunity to enjoy a great day at the lake, while making a valuable contribution to the youth and families of our community. We encourage everyone to get involved, challenge their civic or church group, business or organization to start a team. We are not only looking for participants but also business to sponsor and provide assistance in working with our organization.

Please join us in this opportunity to make a difference in the community while supporting a valuable cause. The Coeur d’Alene Viking Boat Races is a “non-profit organization”.
